• About my work

I am captivated by the landscapes that surround us and the emotional connections we form with the places we call home. I believe that our connection to the natural world is an essential part of what makes us human, and it is this connection that inspires my work. Through the process of layering glazes, I create abstract representations of landscapes that are open to interpretation. The use of clay as a medium provides a canvas for my landscapes and lends a tangible quality to my work, allowing me to express the intangible emotions that are tied to our memories and experiences of the landscapes that shape our lives.

The use of clay and glazing is a deliberate choice for me, as these materials allow me to create pieces that are both aesthetically pleasing and emotionally impactful. The application of glaze is an integral part of the process, as the different glaze combinations and application techniques create a sense of depth and complexity, much like the diversity of landscapes in the world. The use of different clay bodies also affects the final outcome, contributing to the one-of-a-kind nature of each piece.

The landscapes that shape our lives are ever-changing and unique, much like the pieces I create in my studio. My work is a celebration of the beauty and unpredictability of the natural world, reminding us of the importance of preserving and protecting the landscapes that we call home. I invite you to explore my ceramics and discover the emotional connections you have to the landscapes that shape your life.
